I've always been fascinated by graphic design and maps. I think cartography is the perfect blend of both, and they both rely on the importance of aesthetics. I grew up in NC and attended college in Greensboro, NC, as well as doing a study abroad in Germany. My undergraduate degree is in political science and German, and my graduate degree is in applied geography.

 

In order to make a career change to focus on GIS, I completed a graduate certificate in geospatial science at NCSU. One of my favorite aspects of GIS is extracting data from raster imagery and analysing spectral signatures.
